My mattress quest started about 6 months ago. I was fascinated with the Mattress in a Box phenomenon and I wanted to find out why people were buying their mattresses online and learn more about memory foam. I was familiar with the traditional box spring and mattress and I never even tried a memory foam mattress before but with all the hype with Casper and Tuft n Needle, I wanted to find out why people were buying these brands without the typical rest test.

Since I live in LA, billboard central, I kept on seeing billboards for Casper everywhere and was constantly reading news articles and reviews online and thought I would start there. I ordered a Casper directly from the manufacturer, even with 0 percent financing. Just like they stated, my mattress showed up 2 days later in this tall skinny condensed box. So I moved my old mattress outside, which was about 13 years old and moved my Casper box to my bedroom. Now the fun part, unboxing my Casper, it was so cool to see my mattress conform to its correct size. I was ready to try out my new memory foam Casper mattress.

After my first few nights, I wasn't exactly sure if it was for me. I felt it was too stiff, I would of liked it to be softer, it felt to flat for me. Although, I was liking the memory foam. It just was too hard for me. Given Casper had a no questions asked warranty/return policy, I was contemplating sending it back for a full refund but I had another idea instead. I own a small bungalow in Palm Springs that is rented quite often on Airbnb. I decided to take my Casper to my Palm Springs bungalow and let it reside there for my renters.

But I wasn't done with the Mattress in the Box, I liked the memory foam, but I just felt it wasn't quite right for me. So I began my research to some of the other competitors: Tuft n Needle, Luna, and finally Snuggle-Pedic. I had a friend who had a Tuft N Needle and asked him if I could stop over to try it out. I actually liked it better than the Casper but I wasn't completely sold on it. I decided to dig deeper and did more research online and on Amazon. Being a Prime Amazon Member, I'm a huge Amazon fan. As I was researching on Amazon, I came across Snuggle-Pedic. It was even manufactured in the LA and it had great reviews on Amazon and it was even the highest rated memory foam mattress on Amazon. So I decided I was going to give it a try. It was less than the Casper and I received it within 3 business days. Once again, I went thru the unwrapping process, so fun, my favorite part. Now it was time to try the Snuggle-Pedic.

At first glance, it looks very similar to Casper and Tuft N Needle. I ended up purchasing a bamboo cover which was made specifically for this mattress. Well upon laying on my mattress and a good couple weeks of trying it out, I was loving it. It was much softer but still firm. I liked the feel of it and how my back felt after a good night's sleep. I really felt that I had found the perfect mattress. Everything good so far. I know that Snuggle-Pedic will even customize your mattress if it was too hard or too soft. They offer a service where they will pick it up and do the adjustments and return it back to you all free of charge. What a great service but for me, everything was jiving for me. The firmness and the softness was a perfect combination.

As it turns out, after a couple months of using my new Snuggle-Pedic, I couldn't be happier. It was a good fit for me and I was happy to be a content and happy customer of my first memory foam mattress in a box mattress.It pays to do your research and I'm now the biggest advocate for Snuggle-Pedic. Next up, the Snuggle-Pedic Memory Foam Pillow. I will be buying that next to see if I can replace my MyPillows which are just okay. I will follow up with a review on their pillow in the near future.

I have slept on it for a few weeks before writing this review to be sure it was amazing and it absolutely is! I am a side sleeper only and the comfort level is a 10! The transfer of motion is minimal, when my boyfriend stays now we have no idea when either one of us gets up during the night which is amazing! And I can't feel my cat either when he is walking around bonus! There was absolutely no smell that I have read has been of concern with these types of mattresses. I don't find it to be hot at all. What was an extremely stressful decision for me to make became worth it once I stumbled upon Snuggle Pedic. I loved that the mattress was made in the USA (there were some cheaper versions from China but I decided it was worth it to be made in USA) and thus far the customer service has been amazing (not that I have needed anything but I have contact info should anything come up)! I was able to easily drag the box from my front door to the frame bed, pull it out sideways on the bed out of the box by myself. After unrolling it out of the packaging easily, it inflated to size in a matter of minutes. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and hope that my review will help you make your decision easier!

Our first nights sleep was extremely comfortable with very little adjustment from our old mattress. We melted into the mattress yet we could not believe how firm.the mattress slept. It also slept very cool in termperature which we also loved.

After 45 or so nights sleeping on our new mattess we can honestly say the following: All of the morning aches and pains in our backs and shoulders are better if not gone. The coolness of the mattress is a welcome change as it has evened out our sleeping temperature throughout the night. We both are sleeping much deeper and through the night due to the complete lack of movement on the mattress when one of us gets out of the bed or rolls over. I have always been a side sleeper but now I find myself sleeping on my back and not moving at all throughout the night.

Our sleep habits have improved by 1000 percent. I am just sad we waited so long to buy this fantastic mattress.

Turns out, I was wrong. By some super human magic, this huge mattress was packed completely flat and rolled up. That's was pretty awesome to see. Still, I was skeptical that it would end up being as thick as I was expecting. More voodoo! As soon as I sliced open the outer plastic, the mattress instantly puffed up. Perhaps i'm easy to amuse but I got quite a kick out of it.

As someone who is very familiar with memory foam, I was fully expecting a funky smell. There's something about vacuum sealing that leaves a stench. It normally dissipates within a hour or so but this time, there was absolutely no smell, whatsoever!

The experience:

I've been using the mattress since June 2nd (the day it arrived). Right off the bat, the bed was (and still is) Amazing! My wife and I already had a memory foam mattress that was okay, but I am a big guy so I typically would sink to the box spring a lot. With this mattress, I don't even come close to the box spring! The soft to firm ratio was perfect right out of the box!

I believe everyone's first concern when buying a new mattress is that it usually takes some time for your back to adjust, which can leave you with a few days of poor sleep. Thank goodness that this was not the case with this mattress. I slept better on night one than I had in years with my old mattress. Granted, I even with my years of severe back pain, I have slept more comfortably in this bed than any bed I have ever owned. I feel like it perfectly supports my entire back and keeps me aligned through the night.

The even better news is that the bed just got more comfortable with time. Like I said before, I am a big guy (300+ lbs.). You would think that with that much weight the bed wouldn't bounce back as well. Well, you would be wrong! Every time I get into bed there are no dips or sags. It is probably best, like with all mattresses, to rotate it periodically but so far I haven't felt the need. I really believe that this bed can do no wrong!

Final Thoughts:

I am extremely happy with my purchase. I no longer have pain in my body and I sleep like a log. According to my wife, I don't snore like I used to. I chalk that up to finally being able to sleep soundly - which allows her to sleep soundly too. I wake up refreshed and ready to take on whatever the day has in store. Hands down, the best investment I've ever made!
